Last I viewed the Hoss G0704 thread there was a dispute about rapid speeds. But it didn't seem to violent? Was this what caused it to close? ~Scott. 09-11-2010, 11:44 AM #11. hoss2006. Neither timing pulleys or 3L V-belt pulleys allow manual quill operation, AT THE MOMENT. It will this weekend. I made a V-belt version first since I was in that mood, a timing pulley version will follow.
I ordered a G0704 back in September at last check they expect them in February. That being said, I have a quick question about the delivery. I will get the liftgate to the driveway but the rest is up to me. I …
Not a g0704 but mostly related; after upgrading my x3 spindle speed I was able to run at 5150 rpm with not too much heat but after pulling the spindle and …
Hoss, I'm not saying your current readings are way off. Most likely the meter will be around + or - 10% so for the purpose it would be fine, but it could be off by 30% and then it might be important.
I finally ordered my G0704, and got a vise for it (6", 7.5" opening). The vise just got delivered and and i realized i might have made a mistake. this thing is a monster 112lbs, 18.8" length, 11.7" width Do you think the table of the G0704 will carry this fine? I really would like to have the 7" opening. Thanks MA
1.) Mine is the same (PM25-MV not G0704) -Z upwards, +Z downwards, on the quill. I got used to it since I almost always use the quill DRO as just a reference number. It's the opposie on the scale I put on my Z axis on that one +Z is up and -Z is down. Think it's just the way that particular DRO is made.
Re: Hoss's G0704 Yay! got it. The allen socket was a 3/8 drive and my breaker is 1/2 so I had to use a ratchet with a big box end wrench on the end to get enough leverage to break them loose.

The power drawbar is plumbed and ready for action. Added a small pressure gauge to the cylinder. The compressor kicks on at 80 psi and peaks at 100 so I get 1695 - 2121 lbs of force on the drawbar.

Getting some use out of the old g0704 motor, using it to make a small wind turbine to charge a 12v battery when I move out to the Alaskan bush lol. Blades are cut from a 4" pvc pipe. Hoss. Attached Thumbnails
Just getting the ball rolling on what will no doubt be another long project filled thread. The Grizzly G0704 is the type of BF mill I've wanted for a long time. It's design is just more appealing than any of the Siegs and if Grizzlys quality comes close to the reputation of these mills, I'll be a happy camper. I expect to be. Still just waiting out the backorder but …
ATC Tool holders. Hi Pete, I have a number of machines. A round column gear head, an X2, a g0704, A sherline, a Lagun knee mill, a gantry style mill similar to a levil and I just acquired an old horizontal carcass which I am going to convert to vertical using size 35 thk rails and 1" roton ballscrews.
Now I can get the MPG working again on the G0704's console. Controls are. upper left - Axis Select. lower left - Mpg, Jog, Step mode, Rapid mode. upper right - Jog Rate. lower right - Cycle Jog Step. center - open/close …
